Indian Navy

The Indian navy is falling short of ships. The Defense Acquisition Council has directed that navy should not be having less than the minimal requirement of 140 ships. It takes note of the existing situation of 130 shops and further planned to build submarines for future requirement. In other news stated Indian navy has plan to build four new warships of LPD category.

It is to be noted that Indian submarines are in a critical situation that it can go dumb any time and Indian government has signed a humanitarian agreement with US for Deep Submersible Rescue Vehicle - DSRV for which India paid $100,000. According to this agreement DSRV will fly to India within 48 hours of submarine distress alert by Indian navy.
